Carol Burnett has graced us with her presence for fifty years and that warmth and vivaciousness shine through in her new book, "This Time Together". The vignettes are mostly very short but her sincerity is evident on every page. While there is much humor in the book, Ms. Burnett is at her finest when she writes about serious subjects...in this instance, two stories involving death. The first concerns a twelve-year-old girl named Kathy, dying of cancer, whom Carol Burnett comforted at Kathy's end. The other is about her own daughter Carrie, who died in 2002, also of cancer. That chapter begins with Carrie's obituary.
"This Time Together" is a wonderful walk down memory lane, written by Carol Burnett, a national treasure. It's a quick, nice read and I recommend it.Get more detail about This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection.
