As promised Stephenie delivers! What a wonderful twist and creative addition to the world of vampire folklore.
The heartache of Bella's turmoil at losing her love is so well carried forward that you can feel and relate to her (albeit irrational and very strange teenage) anguish. I loved how Jacob's character grows and takes form as his relationship with Bella develops further. It is a real and true reflection of how we often get caught up, lost between friendship and love. The way Stephenie manages to win your heart over in favor of Jake, leaving you feeling angry and bitter at the cruel and seemingly-selfish actions of Edward.
I loved the film too and Jacob is a real catch! The special effects were so much better than in Twilight - much more in tune with Stephanie's wonderfully surreal imagination.
