I was left completely disappointed with Book 6, while it took me 3 months to read that one, I read this one in a week. I was also very let down to realize that they couldn't close the story in just the 6 books, and that I have to go through the torture of reading 6 more. I gave it one more shot buying the 7th and it was definitely more exciting and paced than the Hunted, which really only is worth the last 20 pages of the book.
I am very annoyed with the slang and expected the language to get a bit more elaborate and not as messy that I had to just run through it. I noticed this book has much more cussing than other books of the series. I am still annoyed at the fact that they tell so much about what has happened in the story and I find myself being reminded over and over about Zoey's shattered soul.
I do also feel the redundant details and like I am going around and around just to finish the book. Like another review stated, they are milking it, stretching the story. The first book was great, the second was also good, as they went on and on it got slower and slower and sometimes the book would only cover just a few days in the lives of the characters.
I must say that this book I really did enjoy over most of the series put together. I will see if the next book draws me, but I would agree that I much prefer soft cover, cause there are so many more books to buy in this series. I may just stop as I am losing interest and if we keep going round and round. I also read 2 other series at the same time, so I have some point in comparison.Get more detail about Burned (House of Night Novels).
