Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, Not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan Decide Now

I wish everybody would take time to read Greg Mortenson's book on his amazing work in promoting education by building schools in areas where even local governments have given up. In addition, his respect for local cultures that focuses on only helping and not changing the customs has been unique and should become a role model for any group who is assisting less fortunate.

The arena he works in is probably considered to be one of the most dangerous areas for any human being to live/work in at the present time. However, the team he assembled manages to maneuver through Pakistan and Afganistan reaching out even at the times of great natural catastrophies. Greg's humbleness and dedication combined with amazing personalities of his "dirty dozen" and their dedication to bring at least bare education to communities in as hard to reach areas as remote Wakhan corridor of Afganistan or Neelam valley of Kashmir should move most readers. At the times when we often get overwhelmed with fear of what the future will bring aided with dissapointments and disillusonments in governments, coworkers and neighbours, reading about the hope, patience and persistence of many of CIA's scholarship recipients and dedication of his meager team should lift our spirits.

Highly recommend book to read.Get more detail about Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, Not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
