I found this book to be very poorly written, full of repetition and cliches. The storyline itself could have been interesting if the writing weren't so excruciatingly bad. It felt like it was written by a high school student, and not for an Honors class. Truthfully, if it weren't for her "name", I doubt Ms. Steel could have sold this to a publisher. I also agree with the other posters that the characterization of the main character as "fat" was rather extreme...the descriptions made her sound morbidly obese, which would not be the case with 10-25 pounds to lose. I wish I could get a refund for this clunker...Get more detail about Big Girl: A Novel.
