I will be brief, the book read as a staunch defense of the central banking system. The author's background in the World Bank shows precisely where this book would go, his support of Fabian Socalist John Maynard Keynes, the supposed horror of the gold standard and the imperativeness of having a fiscal policy derived from socalist Karl Marx. I give this book one star because it is not based on factual, unbiased analysis of this very real problem. It is instead the author's attempt to demonize the gold standard and expouse the "wonders" of the central bank's fiat money policy that not only has caused severe inflation but also has diminished immensely the quality of life for all men and women.
