The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao Review

This book has a promising title which drew me in (that and the fact that it has won a Pulitzer), and it actually starts out keeping this promise (though the many history lessons in footnotes and the many Spanish phrases already start to annoy me). But then it digresses into some sort of historical family saga and during those parts I actually had to force myself to read on. There are reprieves where the story line again continues in the more contemporary setting and those are the ones that kept me alive, but that does not make a good book in the end.

Good start, some good parts in between, good end as foreshadowed all the time before, but lots of boring digression into history, politics and myth.Get more detail about The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
